Installation
Download DATEYE from dateye.app and follow the steps for your operating system.
macOS
- Download the
.dmgfile from dateye.app - Open the downloaded
.dmgfile — a Finder window opens showing the DATEYE app icon - Drag DATEYE into the Applications folder
- Eject the disk image
- Open your Applications folder and double-click DATEYE
On first launch macOS shows a security warning because DATEYE was downloaded from the internet. Right-click the app icon in your Applications folder and choose Open to bypass Gatekeeper. On subsequent launches you can open DATEYE normally.
If macOS shows “DATEYE cannot be opened because the developer cannot be verified”, go to System Settings → Privacy & Security and click Open Anyway next to the DATEYE entry.
Windows
- Download the
.exeinstaller from dateye.app - Run the downloaded installer file
- Follow the setup wizard — accept the license agreement and choose an installation folder
- Click Install, then Finish when setup completes
- Launch DATEYE from the Start menu or the desktop shortcut
If Windows SmartScreen shows a warning saying “Windows protected your PC”, click More info and then Run anyway. This warning appears for new software that has not yet accumulated a reputation score with Microsoft. DATEYE is safe to install.
Verifying the Installation
When DATEYE opens successfully, you see the Connections screen with an empty connections list and an Add Connection button. This confirms the application started correctly and the local encrypted database was initialized.
If DATEYE does not open, check that your system meets the system requirements and that you have administrator rights on the computer.
