IOLMaster 700

The Zeiss IOLMaster 700 is an optical biometer that exports measurement data as DICOM files. DATEYE reads the proprietary Zeiss DICOM tags to extract axial length, keratometry, corneal thickness, and IOL calculation data. Import direction: IOLMaster 700 → DATEYE (file-based, DICOM).

Overview

The IOLMaster 700 generates multiple DICOM files per measurement session. DATEYE monitors a watch folder for new files, groups them by exam ID, and imports each session as a single measurement record. This means one import entry per patient exam, not one per DICOM file.

The IOLMaster exports multiple DICOM files per measurement session. DATEYE groups these automatically by exam ID — one import record per session, not per file.

Prerequisites

Before configuring the IOLMaster 700 in DATEYE, complete the following steps:

  • Configure the IOLMaster 700 to export DICOM files to a network-accessible folder. Refer to the IOLMaster 700 operator manual for DICOM export configuration.
  • Ensure the export folder is accessible from the computer running DATEYE. For a network share, mount or map the share before starting DATEYE.
  • Verify that DATEYE has read permissions for the export folder.

Step-by-Step Walkthrough

  1. Open DATEYE and navigate to the Connections screen.
  2. Click the + button to add a new connection.
  3. Select IOLMaster 700 from the device list.
  4. Enter the full path to the watch folder in the Watch Folder field. Use the folder browser button to navigate to the correct location.
  5. Enable Auto-Import to have DATEYE process new DICOM files as they appear.
  6. Click Save to create the connection.
  7. Perform a test measurement on the IOLMaster 700 to trigger a DICOM export.

The connection card turns green once DATEYE confirms it can access the watch folder.

Verification

Expected result: The IOLMaster 700 connection card shows green. After a measurement on the IOLMaster exports DICOM files to the watch folder, a single import record appears in the DATEYE History screen — representing the complete measurement session.

If the connection card shows an error:

  • Check that the watch folder path is correct and the folder exists.
  • Verify that DATEYE has read access to the folder.
  • On Windows, ensure UNC paths (\\server\share) are accessible or use a mapped drive letter.

If measurement data appears incomplete:

  • Check the IOLMaster 700 export settings to ensure all DICOM series are exported to the same folder.
  • Allow a few seconds after the last DICOM file arrives before checking History — DATEYE waits briefly to ensure all files in a session have been exported.
